ALL SKILL LEVEL
We are so excited to offer this unique and adventurous yoga retreat in the south of Italy with Morgan Haley (@the_southern_yogi). La Selva is located just south of Naples on one of the most famous coast lines in the world. It is a working organic farm that offers a rare and humble base camp for exploring the picturesque Amalfi coastline. While daily yoga will anchor our experience, those that seek more adventure will have access to rock climbing, hikes along the coast, and exploration of nearby villages.
During your free time, hike down into the town of Positano for the beaches, shops or even hop onto a city bus and explore some of the other Amalfi towns such as Ravello and Praiano. La Selva is also perfect for relaxing with a book or taking a nap in a cozy hammock.
The joy of discovering such spectacular locations are the treasures that come along with it; the combination of a quiet escape, delicious foods, an amazing community and access to adventure and exploration.
We prepare vegetarian-Mediterranean and organic meals with fresh products from our garden. These products include our home-made extra virgin olive oil, honey, oranges, lemons, tangerine, figs jam, marmalade, limoncello and other liquors. All these products are organic and hand made.
Our headquarters are located in an ancient house in La Selva. The house overlooks the Positano sea and is nestled among olive and lemon trees; a humble yet radiating location perfect for escaping the noise of everyday life. La Selva is accessible only by foot, from two different paths, and takes approximately 15-25 minutes to reach the main road. With a 30 minute walk across these panoramic paths, you can arrive to the center of Positano and the beach.
This retreat is a journey focused on connecting with oneself and forming connections with fellow women. We will be sharing rooms, some of which are unique yet equally welcoming. You can come alone or with a friend or two; we love company!
OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY
We Are Creative Adventurers and La Selva have teamed up to create and inspire a new generation of travelers that are driven to address and understand the needs in the daily life of the local communities in and around Amalfi. While it is known for its coastline in real estate and tourism, Amalfi also seeks understanding within the local community including needs of local families, schools, and the environment. As travelers, We Are Creative Adventurers believe that the key to true adventure greets us when we offer up our hands to the people of the community through engaging in conversation and programs that leave a positive impact.
During this trip, we will provide a sustainable approach to a cultural experience by disturbing as little as possible on these beautiful environments, addressing needs of the local community and their traditions within the culture in order to further experience what it means to travel sustainably. It is time to feed our minds and souls with the knowledge and inspiration that is the uplifting sustainable approach to this impactful initiative.

COOKING CLASSES WITH AN ITALIAN CHEF
Fresh pasta is one of the most iconic Italian dishes, both in Italy and all over the world.
Our gourmet chef, Francesco Nicolai, offers an easy and enjoyable pasta-making class for the guests of the Yoga retreat at La Selva.
Under his expertise, you will learn how to prepare fresh ravioli, lasagne, cannelloni and tagliatelle (vegan for those who so choose), ready to be cooked with the fresh produce we grow in our La Selva organic farm. In this class, the flour will be organic stone-ground durum wheat, provided by Salvatore Cappelli.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
September weather in La Selva is beautiful with warm days and cool nights. We suggest packing tanks tops as well as warm sweaters. Although bugs are not a significant issue, we advise bringing bug spray just in case.
HOW MUCH FREE TIME WILL WE HAVE?
This yoga retreat honor's giving participants plenty of free time to explore on their own or relax. We pride ourselves on creating an itinerary that allows you to dive deep into a sense of well being and relaxation.
‘Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone...In a few days we became aware of Positano’s greatest commodity – characters’.
In 1953, John Steinbeck wrote about Positano in Harper’s Bazaar
HIKING THE AMALFI COAST
Known as “Il Sentiero degli Dei” this 4 mile trail will take your breath away with its astonishing views and untouched landscapes of one of the most famous coastlines of in the world. You will walk across the paths of Sant’Angelo a Tre Pizzi mountain, admiring the enchanting panoramic views of Praiano, Positano, Li Galli Islets, Capri and its Faraglioni rocks. This trail goes through tunnels of elm and oak trees surrounded by strawberry bushes and Mediterranean vegetation. It crosses wild cliffs adorned by prehistoric caves and terraced vineyards and ends at the small village of Nocelle at the bottom of the Monte Pertuso, which is only 2000 stairs steps away from Positano and its fairy-tale like colorful villas.

Treedom was created in Naples in the municipality of Scampia Chiaiano, a piece of land confiscated by the Italian mafia. The area is affected both by the phenomenon of Eco-mafias and the historic presence of the Camorra organized crime group. Here, unemployment is high because of a large percentage of high school drop outs and a lack of social services. In this context of social, cultural and economic poverty, the project is a step towards job opportunities and social growth for the entire area. The agroforestry project supports a renewed relationship between young people and the territory.
