When it comes to a tropical adventure, a good pair of flip flops is an absolute travel must-have. On our surf trip to La Saladita, Mexico we were so stoked to collaborate with Encinitas based company Vionic to provide our participants with the highest quality rubber sandals on the scene. Whether we were cruising the beach doing cleanups or workshops in the hot midday sun, chilling in hammocks post surf, or working with kids in the community on a planting and painting project, we were always supported and comfy each step of the way.

WE ARE is committed to collaborating with brands who contribute something beyond just a consumer-driven product, and the story behind these sandals is one of a calling to heal. Vionic's mission began with the work of renowned podiatrist Phillip Vasyli, a pioneer and innovator in the field of lower-limb biomechanics. Early in his career, Vasyli realized that the only treatment options for many common foot-related ailments were costly and time consuming, and has been developing one-of-a-kind orthotic solutions ever since. The priority of the brand is to provide well-being with every step, and in partnering with Dr. Weil and his foundation, they continue to support the education of integrative medicine as well as create products ensuring pain prevention to support a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Find out more about how Vionic gives back in their endless community service efforts here.

One thing we know for sure, our Vionic flip flops stood the test of our salty, surf excursion in every way. With our toes safe from the blazing sun and sand, we're sending a big THANK YOU to Vionic for helping create an amazing trip for our team of bold travelers and awesome creatives. Looking forward to another adventure under the sun!
