WE ARE invites you to travel overseas to Sri Lanka--this journey will take you on an unforgettable adventure across one of Asia’s most beautiful islands. Let's embark on an adventure that will expand your culture and help you discover this new landscape in the map land of Sri Lanka. This adventure will take us all over the Sri Lankan Country from the lush jungles to the rolling hillsides to the remarkable coast--we will see it all! We will start off exploring the capital city of Colombo. We will travel inland to the Dambulla Cave Temples to take in the beauty of this World Heritage Site. Take in a the vast countryside and breathtaking views as we hike Ella Rock. Let yourself stand in awe at the feet of giants while we roam the grassy plains of Udawalawe National Park in search of elephants. Cap off our journey surfing the turquoise waves of Mirissa Bay. Throughout our adventure we will tap into our creativity with a series of photography workshops led by Ami Vitale. We will learn how to capture various subjects from the beautiful souls of the people of Sri Lanka to the diverse landscapes we will find ourselves in.
We will immerse ourselves in the vibrant and colorful culture of the country and dive deep into their exotic cuisine, including local dishes like dhal curry, kale mallung, and many more. In appreciation of the destination, we will also give back to the community by collaborating with Selyn and taking part in their Handloom workshop. Selyn utilizes its infinite measures of skill and devotion by engaging the traditional Sri Lankan community of Handloom weavers to bring you products that are handmade from 100% cotton.
Ami Vitale will also lead a workshop in photo journalism to cultivate a deep, intuitive experience that will document every moment of this journey of a lifetime.
Day 1 Colombo
Arrive in Colombo and relax from a long journey. We will have a welcome ceremony + practice intention setting. After resting up tap into your creativity with a dual hand-looming and giving back workshop with a factory tour.
Day 2/3 Dambulla
We will travel to Dambulla to explore the Dambulla caves. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.
Day 4 Ella
The adventure continues to Ella, which is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. We will hike to the stunning Ella rock while we are here.
